SAAACA Legislation - Funds and Donations

In accordance with its mission and Constitution, SAAACA is actively involved in representing the interests of all fields of associated collectors to various Legislators, Regulators and other authorities

As the largest Police Accredited collectors association in South Africa, SAAACA has, actively been involved in representation on behalf of collectors to the relevant authorities in terms of the revised South African Firearms Control Act, enacted in the course of 200

.

SAAACA is privileged to be included in the various working groups involved in the planning of the practical implementation of the Act

This Act profoundly affects the collectors of all forms of firearms and ammunition and it is no small credit to the contributing Committee of SAAACA that the status of these collectors is recognised and entrenched in this Act

The involvement of SAAACA continues after the enactment of this Act and it is essential that the association maintain its position at the forefront of any regulatory activities

Currently, the legislative activities of SAAACA members have been funded by monies drawn from membership dues, a once off levy, fund raising activities and other donations made by many interested and concerned individuals

These funds have primarily utilised for legal, travel, some PR and administration costs.

Although assisted in a limited manner by various sympathetic members of the legal profession, good counsel is extremely costly and the Association must continue to maintain a substantial level of funding in this regard.

Donations of funds or in kind are continuously sought in this regard and any offers, regardless of magnitude are always gratefully received.

Persons wishing to make a donation may deposit funds to:

Bankers: Nedbank

Branch: Melrose Arch

While the donor's details are appreciated, these are optional

Persons wishing to offer their services and time in this regard, should contact the SAAACA Office

The Committee wishes to thank all those who have made donations and participated in the past and looks forward to your continued and improved support.
